Some people loves sharing fake news on Instagram and users consumes some of these information on daily basis but they have no option to flag it down. Presently, Instagram now has a tool that can help users of the app to report a deceptive or suspicious post and expect the post to be reviewed by third-party fact checkers.
This looks awesome you know.
Instagram won’t reveal who reported the post. The post will be under review and the post creator won’t be notified and also, they won’t know the fact checker decision; whether is false or not.
The fact checkers are same people who reviews flagged contents on Facebook. However, when a user report a post and it’s found to be bogus but not in violation of policies will not be deleted, but won’t appear when users uses the explore or hashtag searched to discover new contents.
Instagram says the feedback generated by users will be used to train artificial intelligence (AI) software to scan for, and rate, fake posts without waiting to be reported by users.
However, users can always report a false content by clicking on the three dotted menu at the top right corner of an Instagram post and select “It’s Inappropriate” and choose false information. The post won’t be deleted instantly if found indeed incorrect but the search for the post will only be downplayed.
Instagram new tool to find false information looks authentic and I think by using this method, they will be able to provide a safe place for users on their platform. What’s your say?
